Joaquim Barradas
Joaquim Barradas spent thirty years as an industrial photographer in Setúbal, lighting machines, bridges and steel. Retirement gave him time for the work he had always wanted to make: patient studies of objects that reflect the world back at us.
He still uses a wooden field camera and sheet film, and a single image can take him a week. His prints are cool, precise and full of quiet detail.
